Diploma in Accounting

Course Overview

The Diploma in Accounting is designed for individuals with prior accounting training who wish to advance their careers in accounting, auditing, and public sector finance. The course uniquely combines government and business accounting practices, equipping participants with practical, competitive skills for both the public and private sectors. Key areas include accounting and auditing, public service financial management, business law and taxation, economics, information systems, communication skills, ethics, and computer application

  • Public servants working in finance, accounting, or auditing roles within government departments, agencies, and state entities
  • Individuals with prior accounting or finance training seeking career advancement
  • Accounting officers aiming to progress into senior accounting, auditing, or financial management positions

    1. Successful completion of a Certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    2. Relevant work experience in accounting, finance, or auditing roles over 5 years

    Pathways

    1. Participants who successfully complete DIA will go for Bachelors in Accounting at UOG, IBSU and UPNG
